Calvin Yoon graduated from the University of Rochester with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, studied abroad at the University of New South Wales in Australia, and received his Master’s degree in Integrative Biosciences and Biotechnology at POSTECH in South Korea. Calvin is a recipient of the POSTECH Presidential Fellowship and has contributed to scientific advancement in the fields of cancer, regenerative medicine, and medical devices, with publications in high-impact research journals, and continues to provide solutions in the healthcare industry. As an advocate for personal and leadership development of young adults, Calvin has tutored and mentored underprivileged students and has coached high school and collegiate student organizations across the United States, Japan, Korea, Canada, and Australia. Calvin enjoys rock climbing, snowboarding, and learning new languages.
Terrance Dolan graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. He earned his Master of Science degree at New York Medical College and is currently enrolled in New York Medical College’s School of Medicine as an M.D. candidate for 2019, with a declared focus in Psychiatry. Terrance has contributed to scientific advancement in the fields of endocrine biochemistry, affective neuroscience, and behavioral sciences with publications in high impact research journals and literature reviews. During his time in Rochester, he was recognized with a Leadership Citation for his services leading tutoring workshops of 6-8 students. He received his leadership training, prior to attending college, through the Boy Scouts of America where he earned the highest rank, Eagle Scout.As an advocate for personal development and mental health Terrance has participated in mental health awareness campaigns and tutored high school, college students, and medical students in both academic and self-care settings. Terrance enjoys singing, board games, and playing the ukulele.
Chenille Rafferty obtained her bachelor’s in Public Health at the University of Rochester. Chenille has piloted a youth community program in one of Rochester’s public schools where middle school students expressed the needs and strengths of their community through the use of photography. Chenille is currently attaining her Master’s degree in Social Work at Fordham University where she works to support inner city youth in college and career readiness geared programs. As a stark advocate for holistic health in the pursuit of personal development, Chenille has committed to earning her Personal Training certification as well as other various health certification for women pre and post natal fitness. Chenille enjoys expanding her knowledge in the various ways to increase self motivation, cooking and going on naturalist adventures.
Meghan Hokr graduated from Boston College with a degree in English and studied abroad at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina in Buenos Aires. Meghan has participated in several service trips and acts of community service in college and through working closely with the high school youth program at her church. With a few other ambitious individuals, Meghan has spearheaded the development of a new ministry at her parish that caters directly to young adults ages 18-35. Meghan is also a fellow in the McGillycuddy-Logue fellows program that is designed to prepare a small cohort of undergraduate students to develop into thoughtful and fully engaged global citizens, prepared to act with humility and in solidarity with others. Her analysis on Colombian reintegration programs for ex-guerilla fighters is published in a research journal along with those of the other 11 cohort members. Meghan enjoys reading and engaging her creativity through art projects and learning from others through connecting with those she meets and befriends. She loves to travel and is passionate about music and dancing.
Elissa McMahon is in her senior year at NJIT studying marketing. She is the VP of PR for University Heights Toastmasters and is a swim instructor/supervisor at Safesplash Swim Schools. She is Bloomberg certified, and has a passion for business. In the summer of 2018 she traveled to Japan and Korea with the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles in an effort to create peace between the nations and the US. Starting in January 2019, she will be working for a company working to reform the healthcare system. She is passionate about meditating, rock climbing, volleyball, painting, designing, coming up with business ideas to improve the world, and studying psychology.
Vonn Johnson graduated from Seton Hall University with a degree in Finance. His professional background is in compliance in the financial services industry in policies and procedures, issue spotting, and risk analysis. He participated in MIT’s Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp to learn the ins and outs of taking a venture from idea to conceptualization. He continues to stay involved in his school by volunteering as a panel judge for his university’s investment club, the Hall Street Fund, critiquing the investment thesis of the students. His hobbies include reading, taking courses in a new subject area, discussing financial literacy, video games, and supporting the 2017 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Oliver Shetler is currently finishing BAs in psychology and statistics at Hunter College and is scheduled to pursue a Master’s in applied mathematics upon completion. He plans to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology focusing on the use of nootropics and brain stimulation to enhance outcomes for didactical therapy, focusing primarily CBT. He also has research interests in Consciousness Studies. He is an active member of the Modern Stoicism movement in New York and advocates for educating the public about applied philosophy and positive psychology. Before returning to school, he founded a customer service company and worked as an independent business consultant.
Mark Habek graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, he then pursued his masters degree in Mechanical engineering at NJIT. Mark is currently an MBA candidate at Rutgers Business School. Mark was part of an on-campus ministry group, where he led community service and fundraising activities. He was also responsible for founding a youth-oriented, youth-organized and youth-led group at his local church that focused on empowering the youth congregants by giving them a voice through their accomplishments around the community. Mark enjoys soccer, skiing and donuts.
